Wow! The last three weeks have been INTENSE as I have gotten the site to where I want it to be so that you have a great user experience. As you noticed we moved the social side off this site and on to Hookey.org. My poor brain was so tired as I worked night and day (literally) to make the necessary adjustments and changes, I was so tired that I couldn’t even crochet!
So, yesterday we had a trip scheduled into Seattle (about 1.5 hrs South) and that meant that I could sit and just hook for a while. I picked up my Marble Chunky and an L/M hook and decided to justsee what stitches moved me.
Half double crochet (hdc) is my go to stitch, in general I just love the fabric it creates, it’s simple and versatile, but I wanted a smoother flow in the
fabric. So, I decided on alternating rows of front loop only
and back loop only half doubles. Yes, I’m doing some color changes too, but that’s a different subject from stitches, that subject will be tackled in a different blog post.
I love the feel and look of this stitch pattern, there is a lot of stretch and it will produce a lovely drape, even though I’m using a bulky acrylic yarn.
You create this fabric by crocheting a chain to the desired length and then, insert your hook into the second chain from the hook to begin row one.
Row 1: HDC front loop only (flo) into each stitch, ch 1 turn. (This is a turning chain and DOES NOT count as a stitch)
Row 2: HDC back loop only (blo) into each stitch, ch 1 (turn)
Repeat ;D
