I did all of these in time to make the week in question, however I didn’t get the posts written in time! So here’s the Stitch of the Week for Week #3.
Once again, I turned to the Harmony Guide of Crochet, Vol I by James Walters and Silvia Cosh. I love this book, it was the first book I used that helped me to read patterns correctly. Their clear instructions, coupled with great stitch diagrams and photos for easy reference allowed things to just click! I got my copy of this this treasured crochet reference book a little over a decade ago, and it has expanded by crochet horizons each time I turn to a new page! If you can find a copy of this out of print book, grab it!
This week’s stitch is called the “Crunch” stitch by Walters and Cosh, I like to think it looks like cobbles. So I shall call it the Cobble Stitch.
This is a very simple stitch, but I warn you to keep your tension very even and not too tight. You will be alternating half double crochets (hdc) and slip stitches (sl sts) and you will have to work into the slip stitches!

Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), *sl st, hdc, repeat from * to end of row, turn.
Work all subsequent rows as row 2 to desired length.
