The Crochet Liberation Front (CLF) founded in 2007 to voice the concerns and needs of those involved in design and creation of crochet patterns and finished goods. We achieve this in several ways:

  • The Annual Crochet Awards, aka The Flamies, a people’s choice of the best designs, books, tools and creations in a given year. Nominations are collected from public and industry sources, voting occur by the general public and awards are made public in April. (Starting April 19, 2012 4th Annual Crochet Awards celebrations begin.)
  • The Blog: Laurie Wheeler keeps her finger on the pulse of the avid crochet lover and blogs what she reads and sees in the market place, at retail events, and online discussion groups.
  • Message Board: Our message forums for free and paid members keep crochet lovers and professionals in the loop.
  • Social Networks: Find us on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+, Ravlery.com
  • CLF News: Monthly email newsletter where Laurie Wheeler offers tips & hints to consumers and professionals.
  • On-demand education: Webinars on topics that include techniques to how to sell handmade goods.

NEW! CLF 3.0 In January 2012 The CLF has launched  a two pronged membership service that meets the needs of both consumer and independent professional.

CLF 3.0 is the consumer membership branch, offering Free and Supporting Member information about techniques and products, discounts (as available) on products, books and services and the latest crochet happenings.

Independent Crafter and Artisan Network (ICAN) offers independent designers, makers and suppliers a host of professional development education, training and opportunities to leverage their expertise.

The Crochet Liberation Front and Independent Crafter and Artisan Network were founded by and are owned and operated by Laurie A. Wheeler.
