The Crochet Liberation Front (CLF) founded by Laurie A. Wheeler  in 2007 to voice the concerns of consumers and those participating in design and creation of crochet patterns and finished goods. In 2012, Ms. Wheeler redirected the CLF from a consumer advocacy group into a professional development member service to meet the needs of those who want a paying hobby or to make a career out of their passion for crafting.
