Thumb gusset (see also Chart B):
Rd 1: 9 tr in next sc, continue according to rd 1 of chart A to last sc, 9 tr in last sc, join rd with a sc in top of ch-4.  (4 sts increased)
Rd 2: Ch 4, tr 4 in first sc, sc 1 in 5th st of 9-st-shell, continue according to rd 2 of chart A to last 9-st-shell, sc 1 in 5th st of shell, tr 4 in first sc of rd, join to round with a sl st to top of ch-4. (2 sts increased)
Rd 3: (tr 5, ch 1, tr 5) in next sc, continue according to rd 1 of chart A to last sc, (tr 5, ch 1, tr 5) in last sc, join rd with a sc in top of ch-4.
Rd 4: Ch 4, tr 3 in first sc, sc 1 in 3rd st of 5-st-shell, tr 7 in space between (tr 5, ch 1, tr 5) of prev. rd, sc 1 in 3rd st of next 5-st-shell, continue according to rd 2 of chart A to last (tr 5, ch 1, tr 5), sc 1 in 3rd st of 5-st-shell, tr 7 in space, sc 1 in 3rd st of next 5-st-shell, tr 3 in first sc of rd, join to round with a sl st to top of ch-4.
